Wine

I am often asked where to buy the wines we have on our list.  Some of our wines are bought from tiny distributors and some are no longer available.   But many are.  Washington DC has some really fine wine shops who will be happy to help you get the wines you discover at Dino.  Please ask your wine merchant to call me if s/he has problems finding a particular wine.  Here are a few of my favorite shops:

Cleveland Park Wines  Tony, Mike, Santos and Ravi are super guys who will bend over backwards to help you.  They have a small but constantly changing selection.  One specialty is a fantastic spirits selection.  Their website is a little sparse, but they have a great newsletter.  Just down the street from Dino.

Ace Beverage  Joe Riley is the wine man at this tiny shop over by AU on New Mexico.  They have a nice selection and will get most anything you want.  My favorite part of their selection is their single malts plus their California selection.  New website so it is in the development stage.

WOW   Elliott and company have a very quirky wineshop on Wisconsin in Glover Park.  Best champagne selection (especially small growers) I know of.

Macarthurs  Superb Italian selection overseen by Tom Hanna and Tim Smith.  Located on Macarthur Blvd in the Palisades.  Their real strength is in their warehouse full of wines, not just what is on the floor.

Circle Just south of Chevy Chase Circle on Connecticut is another really nice shop.  Kumar is very enthusiastic and is a shrewd buyer.  Their selection is very well balanced with a small but important Italian set.

CW Calvert Woodley is a large store on Connecticut in Van Ness.  Large selection.
